We use the casework method to facilitate our in-house project reflections and decision-making on crucial issues in our project work.

A case presenter first describes the case or problem from his/her point of view. Then in a series of three steps – questioning, expanding hypotheses and consultation – the other participants help the case presenter to gain new insights. In order for this method to be effective, it is important that the case presenter formulates the case as precisely as possible. A moderator ensures that the three steps remain strictly separate, as this is the only way to create room for new and often surprising results.
