Velo-city 2013 Vienna

The largest cycling-themed conference to date was held in Vienna in 2013. More than 1400 delegates from 60 countries discussed strategies to encourage more cycling and promote sustainable mobility in cities.

Entitled "The Sound of Cycling - Urban Cycling Cultures", the conference at Vienna City Hall primarily focussed on three key topics: "Cycling Cultures", "Cycling Benefits" and "Cycling Cities". The discussions were accompanied by a full programme of public events, including a cycling gear fashion show, film nights, a bike bell concert, cycling "hot spots" throughout the city and a grand cyclists' parade. Vienna became the world capital of cycling for the duration of the event, and it is hoped that this will have a lasting positive impact on cycle traffic in the city.

PlanSinn played an instrumental role in Vienna's application to host the event and was subsequently responsible for all related PR work, graphic design, Internet and communication activities.
