Online survey on the future of Wieden

In March 2012, over 660 people who live and/or work in Vienna's Wieden district took part in our online survey on "The Future of Wieden", giving their opinion on a range of potential sustainable projects and initiatives.

A number of ideas and projects, including the planting of community gardens, safeguarding non-commercialised public spaces, a district-wide 30 km per hour speed limit in all side streets, solar panels on Wieden's rooftops, spaces for temporary cultural uses, a community talent exchange for private tuition and other low-threshold support services each elicited between 250 and 450 supporters. In addition, many people took this selection of 63 possible measures as a springboard to come up with their own ideas for a positive future for Wieden and take action to promote sustainable development in their immediate living environment.
