fti…Talents video contest

In summer/autumn 2013, young people who had completed an internship in the field of research, technology and innovation (RTI; in German FTI) were asked to produce a short video about their experiences as an RTI intern. The competition was primarily aimed at youngsters who had completed their internships under the Austrian Research Promotion Agency's initiative "Talent Promotion Internships for School Pupils". Workshops were held in Vienna, Graz and Salzburg to give the young participants practical tips and advice on video making. The project was also supported by young video scouts, who were available to answer the interns' questions during the workshops or by e-mail. The website www.fti-video-contest.at was set up specially to keep the young participants informed on all developments relating to the competition. The winners were decided via a public vote on YouTube: the 10 videos that attracted the most likes from members of the online community during a three-week period were awarded the prize of an iPad mini. The competition was held under the auspices of the fti...remixed initiative.
